Nevrione Inn

Nevrione Inn
Welcome to the capital of Heawood. It’s not like the tech of the facility that they’re used to, and even more natural than the beachside bungalows. The homes of this nation are built into the environment rather than around it. Several people seem to be housed in hollowed-out tree trunks, the canopy is littered with nests and walkways with overhangs, and the inn - a massive structure clearly built to house even more than just the volunteers - is no exception.

Upon arrival, your living situation will be changing a bit! Though your assigned roommates by Zenith won’t shift any, the set-up will as this is the only country without a research facility to house new volunteers. Zenith is very grateful to the people of Nevrione for allowing them to utilize what they had available. In fact, Professor Quintalian seems especially enamored with the set-up for new volunteers and it might not be the last you see of the design with the island facility being reconstructed.

The central feature of the main building is a tall gabled log structure housing the lobby, dominated by a deep, steeply-pitched shingled roof. Both interior and exterior framing is supported by twisted or curved branches, giving the entire structure a strongly rustic air. There are two levels of balconies where the bungalow resident volunteers will be staying, the lower encircling the lobby on two sides. Stairs climb from the second balcony to where the new volunteers will find the pod housing and past that behind locked doors is staff housing. A platform in the framing known as the "Crow's Nest," which is used by musicians to entertain guests above the lobby floor, is featured at the very top of the building. The entire structure is crowned by a roof walk that holds searchlights to illuminate skies at night. The guest wings are three and a half stories tall on either side of the lobby. It is anchored to the ground by a solid foundation that extends to the first-floor window sills.

As characters enter the inn they are greeted by a grand lobby and offset to the southeast corner, the stone fireplace measures 16 feet (or approximately 5 meters) square at the base. It features four main hearths, one on each face, with smaller hearths. There's plenty of room to gather around these fires as the chill sets in for the night. The stone spans to the roof and a brick flue extends above the roof.

It is covered in log cribbing. An ironwork clock decorates the north face of the upper chimney in the lobby. The fireplace is centered in a shallow depression in the lobby floor that sets the area around its hearths apart from the rest of the lobby.

The dining room sits to the south of the lobby. The dining room has its own stone fireplace, less massive than the lobby's, but still fairly large! The east and west wings were purposely designed to be less prominent than the central house as that's the place that most people see first. It needs to be impressive! The wings are three to four stories in height with a mansarded top floor and a flat roof. The east wing is straight, while the west wing is Y-shaped, featuring plenty of space to accommodate all of the volunteers residing in bungalow housing with most of the usual amenities they're used to back on the island.

Once you’re all settled into your new room and have gotten familiar with the layout (and the new people you might be sharing your space with!), maybe you want to go down and have some dinner before it gets too late. If it’s not dinner that tempts you, well, perhaps the open bar will.

You heard that right, volunteers! Unlike the Zenith Corporation, the country of Nevrione is hardly stingy with its alcohol. There’s a tavern built right into the inn downstairs and it's begging for you to come give it a try. It has plenty of seating available, too! There’s the bar, booths, and tables all for people to enjoy and mingle in. Even the locals come here, so don’t be surprised if they challenge you to a drinking contest or try to get you up on the stage to perform. Whether that might be actually picking up an instrument and playing or just singing (likely drunkenly), it’s all welcome and encouraged!

POD LAYOUT
For the first month of your time in the Zenith Research Facility, temporary on-site housing will be available to you. The inn is still housing guests after all, but don't worry - after one month, volunteers will be moved to somewhere a little more comfortable. The Zenith Corporation apologizes for any inconvenience but thanks you for your understanding and patience!

Pod Housing.

Permanent Housing Layout
A suite consists of enough living space for two bungalows. Bedrooms line the outer walls of the hallways and the interior houses the public living areas, featuring bathrooms, entertainment areas and kitchenettes for resident use. All bungalow residents will be provided the following:

You might need to set up some boundaries with your new roommates. Who's going to use the shower when, a sock on the door means you know what, and don't come drunkenly crawling in the wrong window at all hours of the night. You know, normal roommate things. Once that's all settled, however, maybe you'll host a house party. Or perhaps you'll attend one! It's also very possible you might want nothing to do with anyone and hole yourself away in your room that's for really real all your own this time. Whatever the case may be, the Zenith Corporation hopes that you enjoy your stay at the inn.

And keep in mind, they're only a short walk away should you need anything!
